christmas timing

I received an amaryllis from a dear friend for lauren's 2nd birthday...and admittedly, I didn't have a chance to plant it for awhile and wasn't sure how it would do once I did get around to putting it in soil. So it was truly amazing when it began to bloom several days before Christmas, displaying its full glory on Christmas day. What a beautiful gift!
