Was it really 5 years ago that our sweet J boy entered the world? Even then, he had the same essence about him: strong yet tender.
Strong, sturdy body that has grown in leaps and bounds. He's brought that quintessential "all-boy" quality to our family. Eager to run, to rough house, to climb, to tease his sisters, to explore this great world with all its many creatures. By the age of 2 he was already getting bugs for his squeamish mama. And just the other day he came home with a fuzzy baby bird.
And he's always had a tender, sensitive spirit within. He was the baby that had to be held (usually in a sling) for the first 4 months of his life. He still likes to cuddle. His emotions run strong and he always prefers to be with others rather than on his own.
This past year has had plenty of firsts, such as starting school, learning to play soccer, taking swim lessons, and gaining confidence and freedom (like getting to cross the street to play with the neighbor kids). We're so thankful for our J boy and the great little guy he is at 5 years old. We hope he'll always remain tender and strong!
This year, his birthday fell on Father's Day, as it was the day of his birth. He also shares a birthday with my sister. So we had one big bash to celebrate his pake, his dad, J, Aunt Judy, and also cousin Noah who was born just 3 days earlier! To make things special for J, I wanted to make him a cool cake. So, here's a little video of J's special volcano cake--he was sooo excited to watch it erupt!
